thedaver > Upper Muley Twist trail meanders along a wash for quite a few miles.  Notice how the wall to the left simple disappears in the sand.  One gets the impression this feature extends deep below.

thedaver > Cottonwood Road through Grand-Staircase-Escalante.  One of my all-time favorite drives.  I had been hiking in a short slot canyon until the storm began to move in.  You certainly don't want to be in any sort of wash when rain is threatining.
